As our industry prepares for the upcoming PCI Compliance changes, our big question is: What's your plan for PCI? We will help communicate all available information and discuss current options. Gathering industry feedback is critical. We want to plan and prepare for these deadlines with you.
PCI Compliance
Put Together Your List
The upcoming PCI Compliance deadline impacts all keypads, but it will be important to understand which keypads will require action. The first step is to gather information from your portfolio. Helpful information includes machine: serial numbers, models, keypad versions, and purchase or deployment dates if possible. We can help you understand what your upgrade options are, and which ATMs will only require a software update.
Understanding Upcoming Deadlines
The most important upcoming date is January 1st, 2025. This is the deadline for all ATMs to run TR-31 software updates with the correct keypad hardware. As of now, the deadline is NOT a liability shift and will require ATMs to be compliant or they will no longer function. As further news is provided we will update this statement as accurately as the information allows.
Industry Awareness
Our industry has worked together to overcome compliance challenges, trending theft rings, and policies in Washington. We are a collaborative group and together we can protect future opportunities. Please reach out with updates you have, and we will share them openly. We encourage you to attend the upcoming NAC and ATMIA shows. They will be the best resource for news about coming deadlines.
Which ATMs Require Upgrades
With your list of ATMs ready we can help determine which keypads and ATMs are compliant, and those requiring upgrade or replacement. We've provided a quick reference guide by keypad version below. The version type can typically be found on the back of the keypad above the serial number.
How Do I Reach the Deadline Successfully
We are communicating all current available information and are often asked if we believe the deadline will be extended. We see the industry responding to this question by creating a plan, and conservatively upgrading old and geographically challenging ATMs as they need service. However, if this deadline becomes our reality heading into 2025 there may be inventory constraints that put businesses at risk. We simply ask that you reach out to us and allow us to help communicate any further details we have and help lay out your upgrade options.
